Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton played in the Legends and Celebrity Softball Game ahead of Tuesday night's Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Cincinnati.
According to reports, Dalton received a mix of boos and cheers on Sunday when he was introduced before the game at Great American Ball Park and when he went to the plate for his first at-bat.
The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback didn't seem too bothered by the noise. "I'm worthy of their love!"
In fact, Dalton slugged two home runs in the game, perhaps giving Cincinnati fans an omen to hold on to as they wait for the 2015 National Football League season.
The Bengals and the 27-year-old quarterback agreed to a six-year contract worth $115 million in 2014. Since he took over under center for Cincinnati, the Bengals have been to the playoffs for four straight seasons.
